Born in Bergamo in 1974, during his studies at the Academy of Brera in Milan, where he graduated in Painting in 1998 with Prof. Diego Esposito, he participated in the Erasmus Project at Kingston University in London. His dissertation Nuovo Realismo on the concept of New Realism was an attempt of reconstruction of a theoretical path through the works of writing of a group of selected artists.
He collaborated for four years with art historian Jole de Sanna to the creation of the archive Casa degli Artisti (Artists’ House), continuing his activity of designer until 2011. In 2002 he undertook the Corso Superiore di Arti Visive (Advanced Studies in Visual Arts) at the Fondazione Ratti in Como. Sergio has been taking part in solo and group exhibitions in Italy and abroad.
Breviario works in pencil drawing, sculpture, installation and performance. His research on sculpture drove him to the experimentation with different techniques and materials, with a special focus on shapes, volumes and surfaces.
For the 2014 edition of DATABASE Residency, the artist has presented the project Marmo Umido (Wet Marble).
